A fanciful and quixotic satire, The Tavern, written by George M. Cohen, is being presented by the Old Town Playhouse on May 4,5,10,11,12,17,18 and 19 at 8 pm and May 13 at 3 pm. The State Theatre is excited to bring WBEZ Chicago’s hit radio show “This American Life” live to our big screen! Host Ira Glass and popular contributors present stories, plus things you could never do on the radio – including dance, animation, video and more. Broadcast live from the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, the event will feature stories by David Rakoff, Glynn Washington and Tig Notaro, a new short film by Mike Birbiglia, music by OK Go, and special surprise guests.
