PARKING STRUCTURE FAQ

Do the pay-in-lanes in each parking structure give change?

Yes. The pay-in-lanes do give change in the form of $1, $5 or $10 bills.  It does take a moment for the machine to dispense the change.  $50 or $100 bill are not accepted. You would need to pay with a credit card, as the pay-in-lanes do not accept those bills.

I drive an electric vehicle. Are there any available charging stations in the parking structures?

There are four charging stations available in the Old Town Parking Structure. Two are available on the ground level, while two more can be found on the second level of gated parking.

There are seven charging stations in the Larry C. Hardy Parking Structure.  Three are on the ground level, two on the second level, and two more can be found on the ramp to the third level.  The charging stations are free to use in the Larry C. Hardy Parking Structure.

It is after-hours, how do I exit the parking structure?

The parking structures are closed from 12:00am to 7:00am.  Customers who need access to vehicles locked in either structure after the posted closing times will need to call Central Dispatch (231) 922-4550 to have an Officer dispatched to the structure. The Officer will provide access to the pedestrian doors, and will let your vehicle out of the garage.

Old Town Parking Structure is full. Am I able to park on the ground level with a garage permit?

The ground level of the Old Town Parking Structure overflow spaces signed “parking by garage permit allowed Mon-Fri 8am-6pm”.  These spaces can be parked at with an active garage permit.  Please note that garage permits are not valid at these spaces on Saturday.  In the rare event that all garage and overflow spaces are unavailable, garage permit holders may park in any of our surface permit lots or the Larry C. Hardy Parking Structure.

**Effective 11/1/20 ground level overflow will be discontinued due to available capacity on levels 2-4. If levels 2-4 should reach FULL status, the overflow on the ground level may be reinstated.
