Halloween Walk Returns to Saturday Morning Schedule!

We heard you, Traverse City! When we initially announced a Thursday afternoon timeslot for this year’s Downtown Halloween Walk, our intent was to revisit an after-school weeknight tradition from years past. However, after receiving feedback from our local community, the message was clear: what worked before doesn't fit the realities of today's busy school and work schedules.

We know how much this tradition means to local families, and we recognize that keeping an event great means adapting to what works best for our community today. You spoke, and we listened—the Downtown Halloween Walk is moving back to Saturday!

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, October 31
• Time: 10:00am-11:30am
• Location: Downtown Traverse City (Front Street, State Street, Old Town, West Front, and surrounding side streets)
• Admission: Free & open to all ages

 

What to Expect 

Put on your favorite costumes and join us for a morning of trick-or-treating, festive fun, and sweet treats hosted by our participating downtown merchants. This continuous, district-wide strolling event has no single central starting point – families are welcome to begin their route at any participating business throughout the district. After your candy bags are full, stick around downtown to hit the shops or explore local eateries.

 

Transit & Parking 

• Parking: Available at street meters and the Old Town and Larry C. Hardy parking structures. We recommend the accessible and available Old Town deck. For TC Parking Services maps and rates, click here.
• Transit & Trails: BATA’s Bayline shuttle offers a free ride into town. The TART trail also provides easy access for biking, rolling, or walking.
• To keep our kiddos safe, Cass Street will be closed at Front Street between the north and south alleys. Front Street will remain open.

 

Zombie Run Footprint

Please note that the Zombie Run will be in progress during the beginning of this event. We encourage Halloween Walk guests to avoid the race route and take Eighth St. if you are driving in from south of downtown.

 

 

Downtown Merchants: Join in the FUN!

We know most of the trick-or-treat traffic naturally flows through the 100 and 200 blocks of Front Street. We can’t guarantee an even flow of trick-or-treaters everywhere, but we’re committed to doing what we can to spread the fun and help families discover all the participating stops.

For those located on the 100 and 200 blocks, thank you for being the heart of the action each year. We’d love your help encouraging families to explore more of downtown, so every participating business gets a little Halloween magic.
